  • What are the main signs and symptoms of migraines? Health Consultation Description: Hi,I have recently being diagnosed as having Migraine, but I don't feel my symptoms match Migraine. Basically I have a headache non-stop since the beginning of this year. Somedays just a dull ache, other days so severe I vomit. On the days it is just a dull ache I also suffer from short sharp stabbing pains several times a day. My headache is localised to the left and this is only where I get the stabbing pains also. When the headache is severe I feel like I am going to die and no pain killers ease it. Do any other Migraine sufferers have the same symptoms as me?
  • How should I do to prevent migraine? Health Consultation Description: I am a 34 years old, and i will be 35 next week. I was diagnosed with severe Migraine when i was 14 years old. I have the visual disturbances ( bright zig zag lines), numbness in my face and hands, and confusion. It is really bad. I have dealt with this for so long, and never had a concrete treatment that worked. I was put on Inderal for years, in which it did help where i only had about one every 6-8 months. Then my doctor just yanked me off of them and i was left with nothing. As time has went on, they have gotten worse to the point i have almost had them every day this week. My new doctor put me on metroprolol 25mg ER..and this is day 2. I did have one this morning. Could it be that these have not gotten into my system yet..enough to help prevent..? This is really depressing me badly.

  • Is neck stiffness connected with cervical spondylosis? Health Consultation Description: I am a 31 year old female and yet to conceive. Since 9 months I have been facing heaviness of head and stiffness of neck. Sometimes the heaviness of head becomes extreme and I feel it is spinning even at the slightest movement of neck and it is accompanied with bowel movements. I feel that I may faint and the feeling subsides only after passing normal stool. Since 9 months these incidents used to happen on a daily basis especially during the office hours but now it is happening at the rate of one to two times per week. I did MRI brain, cervical spine and ECG of heart. Everything turned out to be normal except detection of mild scoliosis of neck. In the morning when I wake up I do not feel so bad but as the day progresses my stiffness of neck and heavy headedness increases. Orthopedist told me that I am having cervical vertigo, neurologist told me that I am having posture problems, GP told me that I am suffering from phobic disorder (assured). Now I have a few questions. Am I suffering from any gastrointestinal disorder? (sometimes lower abdomen pains but there is no loss of appetite). Do I have cervical arthritis and can it cause gas problems? Is it possible for intestinal gas to hit the brain? In such cases when bowel is not passed at right time can a patient die? Am I suffering from any cervical spondylosis?
  • Can pins and needles in legs be caused by cervical spondylosis? Health Consultation Description: I had a neck fusion a few years back. I like to understand more about my MRI. I am going to start Gabapentin for nerve issues soon and also I have Crohn's disease and Lyme. Currently experiencing pins and needles in both legs. I have seen a neurologist and going to see a few surgeons this week. I would like to know, what you think about all these information? The neck is worse than the back at this point. Also I want to know what my options are for fixing scar tissue? Thank you in advance.
  • How to treat pains in arm and neck due to cervical spondylosis? Health Consultation Description: I am 55 years old. I have been diagnosed with Cervical Spondylosis due to wear and tear on my dehydrated spinal discs. My pain is in my neck and arm. I have occasional fever and night sweats. I am already using a cervical collar for a week now. I am using hard collar during the day and soft collar at night. I am undergoing physiotherapy which includes infrared ray treatment and neck traction. Until two weeks ago, I used to swim 30 minutes a day for five days of a week. However, the biggest challenge I am facing now is my left arm. My left arm is so weak and stiff. I cannot raise my left arm up and across while sitting. It can be done only when I am lying down. I had chronic fatigue syndrome about 10 years ago and recovered significantly. My current medication includes Lyrica 75 mg, Tramadol BP 50 mg and Clofenac 50 mg. Could you give an indication how long my recovery will take?
